Thesis Project:

For my MS thesis, I analyzed web user access patterns by creating a Data Warehouse (in Oracle 8) from web server log files. This warehouse was built using Star schema modeling techniques. A web-based interface to this warehouse allowed ad hoc OLAP queries, i.e. users could dice/slice the data and execute drill down/roll up/ and aggregation queries. I also applied data mining techniques like clustering and association rules on these logs, and created a web based ad-hoc query tool for analyzing the experiment results. I wrote my own algorithms in C/Perl and also used commercial tools such as SGI Mineset.

Duties / Projects :
My main task is to lead the IT project aimed at replacing the existing databases that were used by IMF's Facilities division. My duties include managing the daily aspects of the project, representing the Project's Management Team in the Process Implementation teams. I was also invoved in the budgetary phase of the project and did the Project's Cost Benefit Analysis.
My additional duties include managing the existing Facilties applications and databases. These applications have been developed using Oracle Developer and Remedy AR System.

• Facilities and Real Estate Management System

In my current position, I have been working as a project manager for the IT project to replace the existing Facilities databases. These databases manage the data relating to Facilities space management (including office moves), Facilties Helpdesk and Real Estate/ Lease Administration. We are currently in the process of implementing the FAMIS/Datastream suite of applications that are Oracle based. In this project, I was involved in the initial budgetary phase where we requested for funds and I compiled cost benefit analysis for it. I was then involved in the procurement process, where I created a Statement of Work for the consultants to be hired. The project is now in implementation phase and my main tasks include ensuring the project stays on track, supervising the consultants. work and interacting with the IT department as needed. I am also the main person for the communication of this project and have developed communication and change management plans for it.

Duties / Projects :
My duties included managing the Fund's Helpdesk databases that were developed using Remedy's AR System and Oracle database. One of the major tasks that I was involved in was to create a project plan to consolidate the various IT Helpdesks into a single system to enable better customer service. I also supervised programmers and DBAs assigned to this project. Additionally, I supervised the maintenance of the Helpdesk's intranet site and technical documentation. Some of the applications managed by me are noted below.

• IT Helpdesk Database

This system helped the IT Helpdesk analyst to track the trouble calls made by Fund Staff. The system was used by over 250 users and generated over 10,000 calls a month. The system was enhanced to include tracking work orders for scheduled tasks like moves, installs etc. I also configured the Apache web server and the Remedy web server to provide a web interface for this application.


• Network Management system

This system helped manage the Fund-wide network infrastructure. It interfaced with Netcool to log all the network problems. It also tracked network inventory.


• Change Configuration Tracking system

This system helped the software integration team track requests from application developers to set the configuration of their software for a fund-wide install.

These applications have been developed using Oracle as the database and Java as the front end tool. My responsibilities included analysing the database and designing new enhancements if required. My job also included assisting the client in maintaining this application.

• Connection Database Design

Analysis and Design of the system that will keep track of the networking equipments and circuits at each MOREnet member site .The system will also maintain an inventory of the equipment.
I have been involved in this project since it's inception. I had gathered the requirements and designed this application. Phase II of this project is currently in the testing cycle.

I worked on ORACLE Case Ver 5.0 for updating the database design changes done on the system .
