My research has always been focused on Artificial Intelligence. Over the years I've focused on different aspects of it, including computer vision (71-74), natural language processing (75-85), knowledge-based systems (85-95), software agents (95-03), the semantic web (00 - ) and social media (06- ). Of course, I maintain an interest in all of these areas andoccasionally return to some of the older topics. My work has tended to be more applied than theoretical, so the application area has been important. Currently, I am very interested in applications involving web based information systems.
Other research related interests include logic programming, programming languages, and electronic commerce
