is funded by Exploratory Research for Advanced Technology (ERATO),
Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). This project deals with
market design, i.e., scientifically developing mechanisms to allocate
precious resources appropriately based on technologies from game
theory and microeconomics. This project is carried out by an
interdisciplinary research team, including the computer science group
(group leader: Makoto Yokoo, Kyushu University,
https://sites.google.com/view/makoto-yokoo/), and the discrete
mathematics team (group leader: Akihisa Tamura, Keio University,
https://opt.math.keio.ac.jp/aki-tamura/).
These two groups are now hiring a few postdoctoral research fellows.
The group assignment will be decided based on the expertise and future research
direction of the applicant through the discussion at the interview.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline
and established track record evident by publication in top-quality
conferences and/or journals. Expertise in one or more of the
following areas is a must: game theory and economic paradigms,
market/mechanism design, computational social choice,
machine learning, multiagent systems, discrete mathematics,
and combinatorial optimization.

PACKAGE:
The successful candidate will be employed by one of the following
universities: Kyushu University and Keio University in Japan. Gross
salary per year (including taxes, insurances, and other things) will
be about 6 million yen (about US$40,000). Due to the current exchange

employment regulations of each university, the successful applicant's
past accomplishments, etc. The start date will be April 1, 2024
(Negotiable) and the end date is March 31, 2025, which can be extended
