*** sorry for X-posting ***

Social Simulation Fest will return in 2023, continuing the tradition (see https://www.socsimfest.eu/ for the 2022 and 2021 editions). This is an annual event that creates a moment to connect differently between ESSAs yearly Social Simulation conferences. Inspired by the feedback from the evaluation of SocSimFesT2022, we decided for the following dates in 2023: SocSimFesT 14-16 March 2023.

This is a call for session proposals at Social Simulation FesT 2023. Each SocSimFesT day in March we imagine having 3 sessions and an inspirational talk. Each session will be 1.5 hours in duration, in which the session organizers are responsible for arranging the content of the session. To propose a session, please write a max. 2000 characters description of your session, whilst making clear the following (not included in the 2000 characters):

A. Session timing preference (relative to Central European Time):

a.                            morning or afternoon

b. indicate which dates (14, 15, and 16 March) are possible

B. Session type: what kind of session do you want to organize. We prefer unconventional formats, encouraging discussions rather than predominantly listening to talks. Select one of the following options:

a. Tutorials and demonstrations: guided usage of a software tool or model that participants in your session will download and try.

b. Introductions to social simulation: outreach on social simulation tailored to disciplines and research areas.

c. Seminar: focused group discussion on a particular topic with one presentation introducing it, and extended Q&A afterwards.

d. Workshop: facilitated group discussion using online workshop tools and breakout groups.

e.                            Other interactive formats.

C. A brief description of how your sessions will enable participants to engage and feel included as well as how you envision taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the online format.

Please submit your proposal using this form: <https://forms.gle/ZqqaDeMyBHZWqXSr7> https://forms.gle/JhGdnf34Tee7cdqs5

Important dates

  * 16 Jan 2023 (23:59 anywhere on Earth): Deadline submission of proposals
  *   23 Jan 2022: Notification of acceptance

Best regards,

The festival committee (Harko Verhagen, Melania Borit, Nanda Wijermans)
