We are looking for strong candidates to further strengthen our competences primarily in AI& Robotics. Topics of interest include signal and image processing, robot manipulation, robot perception, machine learning, motion planning, multi-robot systems, and collaborative and social robotics.

These positions are connected to the Centre of Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems (AASS), which carries out multi-disciplinary research at the intersection of computer science, robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computer vision. AASS is one of Sweden’s largest research environments in robotics and AI and was established in 1998. Our research is often done in close partnership with world-leading corporations as well as the public sector, and our research contributions are recognised worldwide. Nationally, the research in AI and robotics at Örebro is leading, and this is evidenced by the University’s involvement in a number of high-profile initiatives related to AI (see oru.se/ai). Örebro University is a modern, broad-based, and growing university, and artificial intelligence is a strong priority here. We endeavour to be an attractive place of work where members of staff feel a sense of pride and satisfaction.

At Örebro University, a senior lecturer is expected to spend their working hours on research, teaching at all levels, and on any associated public engagement activities. In addition to education, research and collaboration, duties and responsibilities include development work, administration and continuing professional development. Applications for research funding both from national and international agencies are encouraged and supported. Moreover, teaching encompasses supervision, examination, course development, planning and evaluation. Suitable candidates will have opportunities to take on management roles in both research and education (in terms of leading your on group inside AASS, or shaping the education programmes), and in other ways influence and develop the activities at the centre.

>>Assessment
Research expertise is to be demonstrated through independent research contributions and continued scientific publishing following the award of the doctoral degree. Importance shall also be attached to the candidate’s establishment in the research community as well as to their experience of planning, administrating, and leading their own research.
Teaching expertise is to be demonstrated through varying degrees of contributions within teaching, such as planning, execution, evaluation and follow up of teaching activities, as well as supervision (Ph.D students, and MSc students) and examination of courses.

>>Information
This is a permanent (tenured) full-time position. At Örebro University, salary depends on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, and positions announced are, where appropriate, subject to a trial period. At Örebro University, we expect each member of staff to be open to development and change; take responsibility for their work and performance; demonstrate a keen interest in collaboration and contribute to development; as well as to show respect for others by adopting a constructive and professional approach.
