INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE
Agreement Technologies is a new approach of Distributed Artificial Intelligence for constructing large-scale open distributed computer systems. This Workshop on Agreement Technologies is specifically addressed for any work that aims at developing models, frameworks, methods and algorithms for constructing such systems. In other words, this WS focuses on approaches and solutions for the needs of next generation computing systems where autonomy, interaction and mobility will be the key issues. Most importantly, the WS will concentrate on techniques that enable software components to reach agreements on the mutual performance of services. Semantic alignment, negotiation, argumentation, decision making, knowledge modelling, virtual organisations and learning will be the sandbox techniques used to build this next generation of software systems.

Agreement Technologies integrates many research efforts from different fields of Artificial Intelligence. Hence, this Workshop is specifically tailored to research works related to this new approach. In this sense Iberamia is a good forum in which scientist from Ibero-America and abroad can discuss their ideas and works. Moreover, Iberamia represents one of the leading Artificial Intelligence conferences for Ibero-american researchers in the field.
The overall focus includes topics such as (but not limited to):

Artificial social systems
Trust and reputation
Social and organizational structure
Teamwork, coalition formation, coordination
Distributed problem solving
Electronic markets and institutions
Economically-motivated agents
Game theory (cooperative and non-cooperative)
Social choice theory, voting protocols
Auction and mechanism design
Argumentation, negotiation and bargaining
Agent commitments
Agent development environments
Semantic alignment, ontologies.

DELIVERY AND PAPER SUBMISSION
Original papers from the above-mentioned or other related areas will be considered.
All papers should represent original and previously unpublished work that are currently
not under review in any conference or journal. Both basic and applied research papers are welcome.
The papers will be rigorously reviewed and
assessed according to the research quality, maturity of the presented
research results and the relevance to the workshop.

Papers should be written in English and formatted according to the
Springer LNCS style, which can be obtained in
http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html, and not exceed 12 pages
including references and figures. Paper submissions should be sent by e-mail to wat2008 at dsic.upv.es in PDF format by the submission deadline.

Papers will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 reviewers from an
International Program Committee. All accepted workshop papers will be published in the workshop proceedings.
Selected papers will be published in a journal special post-proceeding issue
