Research Areas:
Dr. Kalpakis' research focuses on content-based indexing and retrieval for multimedia databases and investigating issues in feature extraction, similarity metrics, classification, indexing, and replication. He is also designing, in cooperation with NASA/CESDIS and the Law Library of the Library of Congress, the architecture of an international legal digital library with over 12 member countries.
