If you are still looking for a project idea, here is the beginnig of
one. Read about the rdf Friend of a Friend (FOAF) project
and play with some of the applications that have been written to help
people put FOAF information on the web (e.g.,
http://www.cs.umbc.edu/~finin/foaf.rdf) and do things with the
information (e.g., visualize FOAF graphs, correlate it to maps, etc.).
Put your own FOAF infoemation on the web.
For a project, you might (1) prototype a new application that works
with FOAF or (2) find a way that OWL content could be added to the
FOAF descriptions to support interesting new applications.
